If you are looking to see the latest and greatest designs, technology, and trends for hospitality interiors, the 9th Annual Boutique Design New York (BDNY) in November is certainly the place to be November 11th and 12th, 2018.
The leading conference and trade fair for hospitality design professionals, the BDNY show brings over 8,000 innovative hospitality developers, owners and designers together with 750+ manufacturers for an exciting two days of education and conversation about hospitality design.
The combination of industry leaders and the excitement of the NYC venue location is an inspiration to all attendees at the Javits Center, and makes perfect sense as to why the BDNY has been rated as one of the fastest-growing trade fairs in the U.S. over for the past five years.
We’ve exhibited at the show for 2 years (and will be again this year at Booth #2402) and want to offer some tips for first-timers, or anyone who’s looking to make the most out of their experience.
Get Inspired by the Latest Designs and Products
Learn about the latest and greatest products and technology available for the hospitality industry now, as well as those that are slated to be released in the near future.
Be sure to make time to see as many booths as possible -- you never know where inspiration will strike!
In case you missed it, we outlined 10 boutique hotel trends that we’re looking forward to seeing in November.
Veteran Tip: Bring two pairs of comfortable shoes and wear them on alternate days. Walking the floor is tiring.
Make Priceless Connections
Network, network, network. Make sure to branch out from the people you attend the show with and meet and connect with over 750 innovative manufacturers and suppliers for the hospitality industry including furniture manufacturers, lighting solution suppliers, fabric makers, and more. Not to mention the 8,000 interior designers, architects, purchasing executives, hospitality property owners and operators that will be in attendance.
BDNY can be a great place to find the missing piece in your vendor and partner network; whether that be finding an American-made manufacturer who shares your values, or an innovative designer who can take your guest spaces to the next level.
Veteran Tip: Bring businesses cards with you everywhere. You could meet an important contact anywhere--like the lobby, at the bar, or even riding the elevator. You never know, so be prepared.
Take in the Impressive NYC Spaces and Places
It’s not everyday you get to explore the wonders of New York City -- unless you live there, of course! Attendees of the BDNY show should definitely take advantage of the opportunity to explore some of the amazing venues, spaces, and places in NYC.
Exploring the city can be another great way to get inspired by design, and there’s a couple stops we recommend:
583 Park Avenue, the location of the ISHP Annual Fundraiser and Birthday Kickoff party, which is one of Manhattan’s most intriguing spaces. The neo-Georgian 1923-built church is now a magnificent event space with unmatched architectural finesse.
Also, be sure to appreciate the amazing Gotham Hall on Broadway, where the Gold Key Awards Gala will be held. Former home to the Greenwich Savings Bank in 1924, this historic building offers superb architecture that is sure to impress.
Treat yourself to an architectural and design tour of NYC and explore beautiful Manhattan to make the most of your visit.
If you are in the hospitality industry, the BDNY show is not to be missed. It is an excellent opportunity to learn about the innovative and unique hospitality designs and products that will impress your guests and customers.
The team at Artone is looking forward to exhibiting at the event again this year and will be at Booth #2402, spotlighting our latest innovative guestroom casegoods design.
We are also excited about seeing all the new design ideas that inspire us to create our custom hospitality furniture, brand packages, and collections.
